TweetHastings Comedy Festival presents Katie Pritchard, Joe Da Costa & President Obonjo
Saturday 26 September | Stade Hall / Spun Glass Theatre, Hastings Old Town
We’re back at the Stade Hall on Saturday 26 September with a night of live comedy featuring three very different performers, all with their own way of taking control of a room.
Katie Pritchard hosts the evening. Katie is a comedian, actor, writer and musician who brings plenty of energy to the stage and knows how to keep an audience on its toes. Her musical comedy has picked up plenty of attention on the circuit, with one reviewer describing her as a “brilliant character, musical comedian.”
Opening the show is Joe Da Costa, a musical comedian and guitarist who Hastings audiences will already know. Joe is a previous winner of the Hastings Comedy Festival Newcomer of the Year, the Norman Award, and has since gone on to become a regular name on the comedy circuit.
In 2025 he won the Edinburgh Fringe Comedian of the Year competition and in 2026 was runner-up in the Musical Comedy Awards. He has also written and scored music for television shows including 8 Out of 10 Cats and Richard Ayoade's Question Team.
Joe combines stand-up, songs and guitar with a style that is fast, sharp and slightly unpredictable.
“a burst of energy” - The Standard
“skilled, frantic guitar player.” -Chortle
Closing the night is someone who needs very little introduction to Hastings audiences.
President Obonjo is a Hastings fan favourite and one of the most distinctive characters on the British comedy circuit. The self-appointed President of the fictional Lafta Republic, Obonjo has been entertaining audiences with his mixture of political satire, storytelling and complete confidence in his own importance.
There is a reason Hastings audiences keep coming back for him. Obonjo has become a familiar and much-loved face at the festival, bringing the sort of big character comedy that works particularly well in a room like the Stade.
The Presidents live shows have built a reputation for mixing satire with plenty of audience interaction and chaos.
