TweetClwb Comedy is back at the Old Library, Porth for our March show; and what a show we have for you!
Joining us this month are:
Charmian Hughes
Charmian started out her working life in Advertising- but after her triumphant thrush remedy slogan ‘When your c**t can’t, C*n*stan can’ offended the client instead of delighting them, she found herself catapulted into the world of stand-up comedy.
A fun start in Clowning under French Maestro Philippe Gauliere did not satisfy her gift of the gab, but gave her the ridiculous stage presence she exudes today.
Charmian has travelled the world with her stand up ! In Spring 2023 she was nominated Best Comedy Show at the Nelson Fringe Festival in New Zealand.
She’s played (and been paid!) at:
The Comedy Store, Bearcat, Banana,Bill Murray, Glee, Agraman gigs, Kill For A Seat, Up The Creek, Tunnel Club, Stand Up Club, Pull The Other One, EDT Comedy, My Comedy, Red Imp, Bring Your Own Baby, After Mirth, Comedy Hotspot, Fat Fish, Hooma, Bath Comedy Festival (GALA MC), Mirth Control, Jesterlaffs, Laughing Bishops, Laughing in Braughing, Electric Mouse, Bath Comedy Club, Neil Brodie, Mark Makin, Kai / shaft OF wit, WCB Comedy, Hungerford Comedy Clubs, Gag House Comedy Clubs, Poodle Club and many many more. Regular MC for Downstairs at The Kings Head main Saturday night show.
Regular MC over the years at Glastonbury Festival for Cabaret, Theatre and Maverick Tents.
10 Edfringes, 5 New Zealand fringe festivals, (nominated 2023) 4 Buxtons (nominated Best Comedy twice) Scilly Laughs, Shaftsbury, Manchester’s Funny Women, Dublin Comedy Festival and Guernsey Speedboat Festival.
Melbourne Comedy Festival 2018 and 2019. Adelaide Festival 2024.

Ashley Frieze has been performing on the UK comedy circuit since 2003. He's a warm, quick-witted MC, and a barnstorming featured act. His particular brand of comic songs, and music-infused stand-up has something for every audience, spanning many genres from Jazz through to Coldplay.
He's fun, intelligent, and playfully-naughty.

A fantastic evening at the first comedy night of the year in Clwb y Bont. A great venue, a lovely atmosphere and a reminder that laughter really is good for the soul. Four very different but very funny comedians. I'll be booking tickets for the April event before they sell out.
