TweetJoin us in celebrating one of the greatest sitcoms ever made, as we welcome renowned stand-up Joe Rooney for a night of all things Father Ted!
Joe featured as the rebellious Father Damo in the classic Father Ted episode The Old Grey Whistle Theft, leading Dougal astray with his earring, cigarette smoking and bad-boy attitude.
Joe will host a screening of the episode, take you behind the scenes and set you a Craggy Island quiz–then prepare yourself for an all-inclusive ‘Lovely Girls Competition’ have you got the loveliest laugh, the loveliest walk, and can you make the loveliest sandwich?
There will also be a dancing priests competition, plus appearances from a nursery-rhyme singing Ziggy Stardust, Nirvana, Johnny Cash and many more – and the evening wouldn’t be complete without a sing-along to ‘My Lovely Horse’!
Come and meet Joe and immerse yourself in the very silly delights of Father Ted.
Ah, go on...you will! “
A purveyor of choice gags, a natural storyteller, guitar in hand, Joe Rooney delights the room with his infectiously manic delivery.” - Ardal O’Hanlon

We had a great night, enjoyed all 3 acts and the MC. Best value night out I've had in ages.

It was the first time I'd been to both the venue and the comedy club. It was to celebrate my 50th birthday and I couldn't have asked for a better night. The comedians had everyone cracking up, the venue was great and the atmosphere, for me, felt magical. I will be back for more! Thanks to all who made it happen.

Went to hear Midge's classic Lefty rant, but he was in a golf club bar full of Gammons and didn't risk the edgy stuff we like. Nonetheless, v. funny act from a talented guy. Tired of being patronised by celebs up from London and counting the minutes until they can get back.

There was nothing wrong with the acts other than my preference would be for the old type of comedy of telling jokes rather than lifestyle observation.
