Local comedy can sometimes be a mixed bag, but Saturday's show was definitely more good than bad, and got better as the evening went on. Great value for money and well certainly be back.

I went to Dunston Comedy Night on Friday and honestly, it was brilliant. It’s held in a village hall, but don’t let that fool you the atmosphere was warm, relaxed and buzzing from the moment you walk in. Drinks and snacks were very reasonably priced, which just adds to the easy, friendly vibe. The night itself was superbly put together: three genuinely very funny comedians and a brilliant compère who kept the energy up and the laughs flowing throughout. It felt intimate, well-run and refreshingly unpretentious proper live comedy on your doorstep. A cracking night out and one I’d happily recommend to anyone. I’ll definitely be going again.
