TweetIain Lee brings ‘Impostor Syndrome’ to Macclesfield Comedy Club
Macclesfield Comedy Club welcomes TV, radio and comedy star Iain Lee as he brings his acclaimed live show Impostor Syndrome to the venue on Friday 20th March.
Best known as a breakout star of Channel 4’s The 11 O’Clock Show — alongside the then-unknown Ricky Gervais and Sacha Baron Cohen — and as a standout campmate on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, Iain Lee is also one of the UK’s most distinctive radio broadcasters. Over three decades, he has fronted cult, award-winning shows across LBC, BBC Radio and Absolute Radio, earning a reputation for fearless, unscripted and deeply personal broadcasting that broke the mould of traditional phone-in radio and built fiercely loyal audiences.
Impostor Syndrome is Iain’s first solo stand-up show in over a decade and offers a raw, hilarious and revealing look at fame, failure, mental health and self-doubt. The show blends sharp stand-up with clips from The 11 O’Clock Show, songs, audience interaction and brutally honest stories from behind the scenes — including his time in the I’m A Celebrity jungle and his experiences working at the very start of Gervais and Baron Cohen’s careers.
Hosted by MC Jonathan Mayor, the night also features rising stars Chloe Reynolds and Zuza Ritt, two of the most exciting new voices on the UK comedy circuit.

Didn’t like the racist jokes directed at the audience by the compere & one of the acts. Lazy, outdated and offensive comedy. Preference would be 2 acts on for longer rather than 3. Two hours before the main act was too long.

Well done for dealing with the very rude lady on the gallery so swiftly. There's always one!!!

The "host" was poor at best. He did not know how to deal with the "lady" in the balcony. First act was not great, she repeated almost every sentence, was this to pad out her time? The second act was promising but seemed in a hurry to leave and only got about 30 mins. Dylan Moran's style is to just wander around subjects like a drunk in the pub, which can be ok if you have some topics to wax lyrical about. He started ok, but then drifted off in blind alleys, which he openly admitted he didn't know how to get out of. Drop the keyboard thing as well, it does nothing for the act. Drinks are eye wateringly expensive!

It was such a great night, brilliant compete and all acts were excellent, a perfect crescendo to the last act, the incredible Dylan Moran. Love the venue too, super atmosphere at the Cinemac. Will certainly come again. Well done to everyone
