Welcome to the stage...
GAVIN WEBSTER
After making his modest debut in a pub in Gateshead in February 1993 he’s done about three thousand gigs from Aberdeen to Abu Dhabi, Manchester to Melbourne and Hartlepool to Hong Kong. Famed and respected by his peers for his uncompromising and unusual approach and distinctly original routines, he now boasts a large cult following round the country and particularly on his native Tyneside where he sells out theatres with his one man ninety minute shows. Hard edged routines, quick-fire pastiche pieces, moronic jokes and sardonic songs, his unique style has brought him this kind of praise and attention.
As seen on Never Mind The Buzzcocks (BBC2) The Stand-up Show (BBC1), Does Doug Know (Channel 4) Take The Mike (ITV), The Regionnaires (Tyne Tees) The Eleven O Clock show (Channel 4), The Comedy Store, Comedy Blue (Paramount/Comedy Central), The World Stand Up Tour (Channel 9 Australia, Comedy Central USA)
"Like a cross between Bill Hicks and Geoff off Byker Grove" Ross Noble
ANDREW BIRD
As seen on Live At The Apollo, Andrew is a top headline act up and down the country and has performed all round the world. He has been tour support for Rhod Gilbert, Rob Brydon and on his recent arena tour Michael McIntyre including Wembley and the O2. He’s one of only seven comedians to perform for Banksy at Dismal Land. He’s written on TV shows Jon Richardson’s Ultimate Worrier, 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown and Lee Mack’s Duck Quacks Don’t Echo and is a regular guest on BBC Radio’s The Rhod Gilbert Show.
“A truly excellent comedian” Michael McIntyre
PHIL ELLIS
Phil Ellis is an award-winning comedian who has entertained audiences of all ages with his amalgamation of off-beat observational material and physical comedy. He won the Fosters Edinburgh Comedy Award’s panel prize in 2014 with his undisputed anarchic sleeper hit of a show Funz and Gamez. After meeting incredible critical acclaim, Funz and Gamez was broadcast as part of Fresh from the Fest (BBC Radio 4), as well as part of BBC Comedy Feeds (BBC Three). The show went on to have an 18-show run at the Soho theatre as well as a further run at the Udderbelly on Southbank.
Phil’s TV appearances include Roast Battle (Comedy Central), The Tez Show (Channel 4), The Russell Howard Hour (Sky) and Drunk History: UK (Comedy Central)
MOLLY MCGUINNESS
