Headline Act: Kate Barron
Originally from Vancouver and now based in London, Kate Barron is a fierce, brutally honest, and dynamically funny comedian taking the global comedy scene by storm. Before comedy, she worked as an international high-end art dealer in Toronto before stepping onto the stage and making history as the first-ever woman to win the notorious Toronto Comedy Brawl, beating out over 400 comics.
Since then, she has dominated international festivals from Just For Laughs to HBO’s Women in Comedy Festival. Her debut solo show, Losing Myself, scooped the "Best Debut Show" award at the Edinburgh Fringe, leading to a sold-out run at London's prestigious Soho Theatre and her own filmed stand-up special. A regular headliner at the UK's top clubs (including The Comedy Store and Top Secret), her live-wire crowd work and unapologetic storytelling make her an absolute force on stage.

I was extremely offended by Kate Barron claiming that the attempted Presidential assassination at Butler, Pennsylvania at which firefighter Corey Comperatore had been staged. She mocked all the prior acts (who didn't get to mock her terrible act as she got to appear last), and then she did so much crowd work for so long that I thought that was her entire act, and when she did do eventually do jokes I was aghast that she spread such dangerous lies. I very nearly walked out of the gig, and I won't be going to another event like this. It has left me emotionally disturbed for several days. I don't like living in a world with such hateful people.

The female act only had one theme - sex. It was vulgar, demeaning to women, lacked any humour and unfunny. Otherwise the evening was great - very entertaining and some of the acts were very funny. Really enjoyed it and will definitely be back!!
